from Woodland, California.
Pastor
Newhouse grew up in northwest Indiana and attended Purdue
University for one year. While studying architecture at
Purdue, he surrendered to the call of God on his life to
pastor. He then transferred to Hyles-Anderson College in the
summer of 1977 and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Pastoral Theology.
He has served or pastored the following

Pastor
Newhouse married Karen LoTurco whom he met at Hyles-Anderson
College. They are the parents of two daughters. Kristin Joy,
who is married and has one child and she and her husband,
David, live in Lakeport, California. Bethany Lynn, who went to
be with the Lord Jesus in November of 1993 shortly after
their family moved to California. The Newhouses love living
in Concord and serving the Lord Jesus at Tabernacle Baptist.
Pastor Newhouse's desire
for Tabernacle is that our church will be a place with a
loving and caring environment; in which sinners can come to
know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Christians can grow to
maturity in Christ Jesus. He further hopes that each
believer will develop their spiritual gift(s) and serve the
Lord in such a way that we as a church will fulfill the
threefold purpose of the local church:
- The evangelism of sinners
- The edifying of saints, and most
importantly
- The exalting of the Savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ
We truly want to
fulfill our motto of:
"Occupying Till JESUS
Comes!"
